How to Wash Your Quilt

Night Groups Blocks for 2015

Night group friends, we will be doing a series of blocks that aren't in a specific quilt but could be done as a sampler, skill builders, or with other blocks of the same pattern made into a quilt.
Each who teaches will provide a kit at cost and we will concentrate on construction of the blocks.  This block kit will be $2 each
Our first block will be taught by Peggy and is an appropriate size for a pot holder.

You can tell from the pictures that we will be working on 60 degree sewing with triangles, diamonds and half hexagons.

February 3 Meeting

We will be meeting at Pleasant Grove Library to see a trunk show by Donna Shadowen who owns the Sewing Basket. Remember to bring your dues $15.00 and we will have the baby quilt fabric challenge which is $3.00. Also bring show and tell.

Irish Chain Quilt Along

Melissa at Happy Quilting Blog is doing a quilt along in honor of her upcoming book release.
This is just one example of what the quilt could be.
Click on the red words and it will take you to her blog where she explains what is happening.  This is a free pattern and she has the fabric requirements for several sizes and some ideas of how to do your own version of the quilt.

2015 Baby Quilt Challenge

One of the activities we have that gets the most participation is the annual Baby Quilt Challenge.
This year's challenge will be headed by Judy Prince (3) and she has chosen some wonderful "trendy" and modern fabric.

and she offered two different examples for us to use as inspiration for making our own baby quilt.

You will buy a fat quarter (aprox 20x18 inches) for $3 and then let your imagination go wild in creating a quilt for a baby who needs the comfort as they spend time in the hospital recovering from illness or possibly a premature birth.
You can make your quilt girly or boyish or neutral in style and any type of quilt that you wish.
Finished quilts will be displayed in the quilt show in July in their own special area.

Night Group PlanningTime

It's the night we plan for our 2015 year Tues Jan 27
We have about 22 meetings to plan for and if everyone brings at least one or two ideas we should be able to have a fun and educational year.
